Choosing a sign material
Appearance is only one part of the decision.
A bespoke business sign has to work at the required size, remain legible at the correct viewing distance and suit the building where it will be installed. For outdoor wooden signage we assess exposure, construction, protective treatment and the intended fixing method. Acrylic can introduce precise colour, reflection or transparency; aluminium provides a stable base for clean exterior forms; PVC Forex is useful where low weight and shaped dimensional elements are important.
For restaurants, wineries, pubs, hotels and independent shops, the strongest solution is often a carefully balanced combination rather than a single material used in isolation. The final specification is agreed before production so that the visual proposal corresponds to a sign that can genuinely be manufactured.
